Alex Lynn

Community Rowing Inc.
Youth Recreation Program Manager, U19 Varsity Boys, Military, and Adult Sweeps Coach
Alex started rowing as a freshman walk-on at Ithaca College. From there he immediately fell in love with the sport and quickly rose up to the ranks of the team, which eventually earned him the Most Valuable Oarsman award his senior year.

After graduation, he continued to stay in Ithaca, NY, where he worked his way up as the Boathouse Manager and Mens’ Head Coach at Cascadilla Boat Club (CBC), in addition to coaching at CBC’s affiliate Cornell Rowing Club. For three successful years, he spearheaded several varsity and novice boats to several high place finishes at the NY regional and state championship level, while nearly doubling the size of CBC membership. Since 2019, Alex has been a part of the CRI staff, graduating from the USCCU accreddited Institute of Rowing Leadership in 2020, and assisting with the Tufts University Mens’ team as part of his practicum before COVID-19 prematurely ended the Spring season.

Now, Alex manages CRI's efforts to offer broader, more inclusive programs across the spectrum of youth recreational rowing at CRI. Additionally, he is enhancing pathways for learn to row athletes to access all of CRI's youth programs from youth para, to Youth Development, RowBoston and Youth Competitive programs; while also coaching the Adult General Sweeps programs, U19 Varsity Boys, and Military Rowing.
